Digital Forensics Techniques and Processes
This area studies forensic techniques and procedures that preserve reliability throughout evidence acquisition, preservation, analysis, recovery, and reporting. We develop methods for integrity verification, timeline reconstruction, activity analysis, and reporting automation across storage media, file systems, operating system artifacts, logs, mobile data, and cloud records.
Digital Profiling
This area studies digital profiling methods that synthesize digital evidence, online activity traces, account behavior, device usage patterns, payment records, and virtual asset transactions. Rather than treating artifacts as isolated evidence, we connect time, behavior, context, and intent into explainable investigative models.
Digital Forensics Infrastructure Development
This area builds integrated research infrastructure for forensic data, equipment, practice platforms, and automation tools. We develop Reference Datasets, synthetic case scenarios, online training courses, analysis templates, and LLM-assisted environments to support repeatable experiments and practice-oriented education.
Offensive and Defensive Security Research
This area studies offensive techniques and defensive systems through reverse engineering, vulnerability research, penetration testing, bug bounty practices, and red team/blue team activities. We analyze software and system weaknesses, reconstruct realistic attack scenarios from a defensive perspective, and design detection rules, response procedures, and hardening measures.
Digital Forensics Convergence and Information Security Applications
This area combines digital forensics with core information security technologies to support practical investigation, prevention, detection, and response. We analyze network, system, cloud, AI, blockchain, security audit, and incident response data from forensic perspectives, focusing on evidentiary value, traceability, and explainability.
Legal and Policy Studies for Digital Forensics
This area studies law, policy, standards, and practice guidelines so that digital forensic procedures remain reliable and lawful in investigation, audit, and dispute-response contexts. We examine evidence preservation, chain of custody, privacy protection, analysis scoping, and technical standardization to establish criteria usable by practitioners.
